The pike saber is part of the "Unique Pieces from Tradition" series, which includes a small assortment of knives with a distinctive history, shape, and traditional craftsmanship. The pike saber blade, also called a saber or, in its narrower form, a pike point, was introduced in the range around 1910. It was mostly used as a roast carving knife or as an all-purpose knife. The width of the blade gives the knife excellent cutting control, and the narrow point allows for fine chopping of herbs or small vegetables, as well as for trimming and skinning meat. The slightly curved handle also dates back to the 1910s and was found on models such as spine-tipped carving knives or preparation knives.
Like many classic windmill knives, the pike saber is made of high-quality non-stainless carbon steel.
