Series 1922

This very special series of Robert Herder Windmill knives has been out of production for quite some time. The kettle grind, essential for production, can only be mastered by absolute experts, and when they are unavailable, the value of these handmade, valuable knives becomes even more apparent. Production is slowly ramping up again, and we can now deliver these knives again—one by one.

Based on the original from 1922 by Robert Herder from Solingen: drop-forged with a narrow bolster, thinly ground, and hand-blued. This is the 1922 Series, featuring blades made of high-quality, non-stainless carbon steel, hardened to 60 HRC, and featuring elegant plum wood handle scales – a testament to the craftsmanship of the "Windmühle" (Windmill) over its 140-plus years of existence. The handle scales have always been hand-fitted to the blades. Hardly any other knife expresses the origin and consistency of this craftsmanship as clearly as the "1922 Series."
