The Güde Damascus steel ham knife with a 21 cm blade length.
In "wild Damascus," over 300 layers of soft and elastic steel and extremely hard steel are manually forged into a blade of the highest perfection in a process that takes up to two days, depending on the knife type. After another 50 manual steps, a Güde Damascus steel knife is finished. Extremely hard desert ironwood, up to 1,500 years old, serves as the handle material. These knives are, of course, not dishwasher-safe and not rustproof.
