The blade is made of an exceptionally high quality non-stainless steel containing at least 1% carbon. This gives this knife the much higher hardness of 60 HRC (Rockwell hardness grade) compared to approx. 57/58 HRC for common carbon steel knives. This hardness gives the blade a higher sharpness and longer edge retention. The knife is hand blued and has a plum wood handle. (The delivery is in a gift set with description).
